Looking Back to Move Ahead

The first day of 2010 is almost over and I know I sit here like many and wonder where has the time gone. My mom always told me that time would go faster as I got older and in this case mom was right. Do you feel like time is flying by? We all look for a fresh start for a new year and put the past behind us but sometimes it helps to reflect back to move forward. This is true both in our personal lives and our businesses.

The world today of an online entrepreneur is different then it was say 5 or 10 years ago. Our days are now filled with an overload of information including social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook .

If you are an online seller like I am our days are taken up with listing on Ebay,  Amazon,  Bonanzle and more. Of course everyone has a ton of email to manage and to top it off spending some time on sites like OSI Rock Stars or Web Sellers’ Circle learning. I cannot forget the many blogs we all read, post and just try to keep up with and you can see we all need about 40 hours in just one day.

I am going to take a look back on this year to see what worked for me and helped me learn and also where my sales were. I think anyone that is online needs some kind of focus and plan to keep on track and move their business forward. I know in order to find that focus and plan my year ahead I do need to look back in order to move ahead. Go ahead try it and you might find it can really help.

I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and I hope both a happy and prosperous year ahead for all.

    Happy New year Deb

  2. Deb you are so “on target” with this idea. I am doing the same thing – deciding where to concentrate my efforts this year. Like you I now have a website but mine is more geared, so far, towards ecommerce. The blogging which you do, and you’re getting real good at, is not yet second nature to me. Gotta work on that.

I hope we’ll see more of you on http://www.rrbradio.com in the coming months and we’d love to interview you. YOU have real “self-employment” experience which gives a whole different color to ecommerce!
I wish you health, wealth and joy in 2010!

Thanks for stopping by and I am hoping your site does very well also. You are right about yours being more about ecommerce and I wish you many sales over the coming year.

I will do my best to see you on the radio also and thanks for the invite.

Deb, How true! way too many do not re-evaluate their goals and plans. Especially in the eccommerce world, you must look back to see where you need to be going from time to time!
